The Lila Foundation applies the following criteria when awarding projects:
• Projects serve a general interest and not an individual interest.
• Projects give substance to at least one but preferably two of the following characteristics: education, entrepreneurship, work.
• Projects have an eye for sustainability.
• Projects contribute or give substance to the development of the local community and are supported by the local community.
• Projects meet the requirement to report publicly and provide reports for Lila Foundation publications.
• Projects meet the Lila Foundation financial administration and project conditions.
The first Lila Foundation projects are in Kenya, following projects could be anywhere.
